A special biome gift
This beautiful and thoughtful biome gift pack arrived this week via courier.
It came just at the right time as Andres has had a small set back in his recovery.
In the last two weeks, at home, Andres was feeling really unwell, he lost his appetite, had strong headaches and was feeling nauseous all the time. He had a build up of fluid where the incision was made from his open brain operation. He had a CT scan done last Tuesday and was admitted back into hospital on Wednesday where his surgeon discussed with him that he thought it best to drain the excess fluid (externally) and keep that monitored for a few days before taking the tube out and seeing how he copes with it all again. At the moment Andres has a tube coming out of his back where the excess fluid is being released, from his spine. If Andres can't absorb this fluid then he will need an operation to insert a shunt which is a permanent tube that gets placed underneath the skin and drains the fluid into the stomach.
He'll need the external drain until tomorrow and then they'll be keeping a close eye on him as to whether he can absorb the normal fluid masses that the body produces every day.
This gift comes from a very special friend of mine, it has so many goodies for me and my two girls, hopefully when Andres gets home, they'll be something left for him, well of course there will be, everything looks so good and I love the fact that all of the packaging is recyclable.
I'm looking forward to eating that organic toasted cereal for breakfast tomorrow morning.

In quickly reading your latest posts, I just wanted to send out my hopes for a full and speedy recovery to your husband. What an ordeal! You seem to be weathering it well though. I'm happy for your support system and the care he's gotten. My best to you and your family.
Marvelous gift.
Well wishes to Andres...
Hey... Found you through Etsy forums. :)
I'm sorry to hear about you husband. It's informative though, since I'm having central nervous system module this semester. Hope he'll be able to absorb the fluids like normal soon and gets better.
